Kingsbury Club Pilates Classes
Pilates is a form of exercise for individuals interested in toning their body with emphasis on structural alignment, muscle lengthening and muscular balance. It is a mind/body experience because it is intelligent exercise that requires concentration and focus. Unlike weight training that focuses on one muscle group at a time, Pilates requires the participant to utilize the core muscles of the body while toning and stretching others. The focus is on performing abdominal and back strenthening to promote proper posture, a stronger torso and tighter abs. The exercises teach how to move through the spine to assist in flexibility and reduce back and neck pain. The changes in how your body looks and feels will keep you coming back for more.
Give Pilates a try if you:
- have tension in your neck and/or pain in your back or hips
- want to increase your abdominals, back and shoulder stability
- are interested in adding a mind/body discipline to your routine
- want to increase flexibility and body alignment
- want a fun yet challenging workout
